The Dao is called by different names such as, Kem Mien, Ku Mien, Man, etc. “Le Cap Sac” of Dao people in Quan Ba is one of the festival reflecting clearly the cultural features of this ethnic minority. “le Cap Sac” is nescessary for the men of Dao ethnic group. It is similar to thanh dinh ceremony of the Mong people which marks the maturity of a man in a family.
Ha Giang Praying for Rain Festival . Praying for rain festival of the Lo Lo is common religious in agriculture. On the festival occasions, almost all activities of the Lo Lo are aimed at praying for rain. They wish the rain down to the Meo Vac field and they pray for a prosperous forever.
Ha Giang is not only attractive to young people who love moving with its winding roads, stone fences or soil-wall houses but also with colorful flowers, white plum blossom, peach blossoms, yellow cauliflower... and especially buckwheat flowers.
During December, the cold mountainous wind in incipient winter, the season to grow mustard greens on rock, the vegetable flowers shoot silently extracting fresh flowers, painting a more sprawling Ha Giang. After buckwheat flower season, people are fascinated by mustard greens flowers. Roaming in Ha Giang in this season, flowers are everywhere, but they cannot convey the spirit of the mountainous landscape as mustard greens flowers in the translucent highlands.
Giay people mainly live on planting water rice and farming milpa. Every years, they organized the “Roong Pooc” ceremony to begin their farming season. Giay built pigsties and hen-coops far away from their houses to fields. Their noteworthy handicraft making are weaving and bamboo knitting
