Day 1: Ha Noi – Bac Quang – Thong Nguyen (L/D)
Morning: You will be picked up at your hotel and experience a change of scenery as you enter the mountainous northern regions. On arrival at town of Tuyen Quang, you will enjoy a local style lunch and then continue to Hoang Su Phi, a remote and stunning area where you stay in a lodge accommodation for the night.
Evening: Have dinner and overnight at NamHong Homestay
Day 2: Nam Hong – Nam Khoa – Nam Ai (B/L/D)
Morning - Afternoon: You will leave Nam Hong Homestay after the breakfas for Nam Khoa, and then will continue by going through the Gate of Heaven, a pass surrounded by forest with rare tropical and temperate plants spiecies such as chestnut trees and orchids. You are greeted by a family from the village for lunch. You resume your walk after this break to Nam Ai, a village of Dao with long tunic isolated at the top of the mountains.
Evening: Overnight at Dao with long tunic Homestay.
Walking duration: about 5 hours
Day 3: Nam Ai – Km38 – Ho Pien (B/L/D)
Morning - Afernoon: This morning, you are resuming your trek by walking further into Nam Son Valley and passing over the mountain to the 38th kilometer. After lunch at a Red Dao family's house, you head to the top of the mountain to Ho Pien through the tea plantations, the bamboo forests. You will arrive in the late afternoon to a H’mong house.
Evening: You will spend the evening with the local family, will have diner with them and will spend the night at H'mong Homestay.
Walking duration: 5 hours
Day 4: Ho Pien – Nam Nghi – Nam Hong (B/L/D)
Morning: After breakfast, you descend towards the Lang Giang valley to Nam Nghi, a Red Dao village famous for its Shan Tuyet tea. From the village, located halfway up the mountain, the rice terraces extend out of sight. The daily life of Red Dao is also punctuated by their farming activities in the highlands that include harvesting rice. Red Dao women wear bright red out¬ts with some indigo keys.
Afternoon - Evening: After lunch, you cross the canopy forest to return to Nam Hong homestay. Overnight in Nam Hong Homestay.
Day 5: Thong Nguyen – Ha Noi (B/L/D)
Morning: You will have your breakfast before the return drive to Hanoi. En-route back to the capital enjoy a Vietnamese lunch in a local restaurant. We will bring you back in Hanoi in the late afternoon.
